Been a while since I've had a moment to write, so I thought that Mother's Day was as good a day as any to get caught up. The fact that it is 1:50 in the morning when I have a minute to catch up on the circus is even more appropriate.
Let's talk about Mother's Day.....wow...very cool holiday if I do say so myself. It is flippin hard work being a mom! Whether you have 1, 2, 3, 4, or God Bless you if you have 5+ children, being a mom is an all-consuming 24/7 job. Do we get a "sick day"...hahahahah....no, no we don't. It has been worded a million different ways and described to no end what all it means to be a mom, so not wanting to sound cliche, to be a mom is a job description that you almost can't even put on paper. Come to think of it....why do we only get one day to celebrate moms?? There is "Administrative Assistant's WEEK" and "Teacher Appreciation WEEK"....am I the only one who sees a bit of a misbalance (if that is a word...it is 2 am don't judge)? I know that I look at Mothers Day as even more of a celebration than my own birthday (which is a big deal for those of you who know me and know how big a deal my birthday is to me!). It is a day to reflect on this awesome gift of motherhood God has blessed me with and to look at all I do every day and remember that it is so important. Here I am cleaning and mopping at midnight, and as I steam mop I'm thinking "yay, kill those germs to help keep my babies well".....Once you become a mom and fall in love with these little people God has decided you are chosen to raise....you change forever, always thinking of them and how your decisions and actions will affect them because you are their MOM. It is a big title to hold. I have been so blessed on my mom journey to be surrounded by so many amazing women who have given advice, counsel, and shared in many laughs about life as a mom that have all made me a better mama myself. I think of my sister who always has been one of my heros and now she is this amazing mom with a beautiful wonderful family....what a joy to celebrate her! And oh my how I have such wonderful dear friends that have ALL touched my heart and strengthened me and blessed me and made me a better me....I celebrate each of you sweet ladies.
Speaking of mom, I also get to cherish my own mom. I really can't put into words what my mom means to me. Such a strong, brilliant, beauitful woman. I have without a doubt had a reeally rough 2 years, and she has been there running beside me, sometimes carrying me when I wasn't strong enough to go on my own, always cheering me, pushing me, encouraging me, and believing in me. Can I ever fully explain what happens to my heart when I think of ever having to be without her?...wow....no....that is a pain I am not strong enough to face. One day definitely is NOT enough to show my appreciation for all she has done for me and to express how very much I love her.
One day...one day to celebrate a role that is truly indescribable.
So happy Mother's Day to all you special women in my life....you know who you are. Lets enjoy a day celebrating the hardest, most amazing job in the world! :)

Life is good
So it's been almost a week living in our new house now, and I have to say I don't think I've ever been happier. I'm have come to a total peace in my heart and it's really awesome. As some of you know I've been healing from a broken heart for a while, and have had some bad relationships come along that have added to the hurt. I am just coming off a huge breakup, like I thought I had found "the one". How very silly! It wasn't and honestly I'm so glad that things did not work out. I would rather be alone than settle. My boys and I deserve the best. And right now I am absolutely LOVING building a home for them, taking care of them, and hanging out with them. You know why? Because they are the joys of my heart and the treasures given to me by God! Why waste time with swine when I have pearls right here? Man this has been a lesson I had to just learn as I went along traversing these waters as a single parent and single woman!!! But it feels great to be at a point of not caring if I'm ever in a relationship again! I don't believe in fairy tales and I simply do not believe I have that special guy out there. And I am sooo okay with that!!! Honestly! I have 3 amazing little guys who think I'm a princess and they keep me on a pedistool and simply adore me! All this emotion gushes out of me as I crawl in bed after singing each boy his personalized song and tucking them in. I'm blessed beyond measure, and sooooooo thankful forball the lazing help and support I get!!!!
So anyway....sometimes the circus music I need qued is simply to announce that my life with these boys is the greatest show on earth!!!

Yay for science
So today was Charlies school night at the Discovery Center. For those of you reading NOT in Amarillo or familiar with what this is let me enlighten you. The Don Harrington Discovery Center is at it's core an attempt to interest people of all ages in science. Fantastic. I have to admit that most of the time I don't really understand what each "station" is supposed to do or represent. It's cool, don't get me wrong! I am just not a budding scientist...let's paint or draw and THAT will get me going! But my Charlie thinks that there are 2 places that represent the most fun a kid can have, the dreaded Chuck E Cheess, and the above mentioned establishment. Needless to say I could not say no to going to free admissions night for his school. It's events like tonight's that inspired my idea of needing circus music. Ha...it's funny it really is. Me with the 3 boys with half of Woodlands Elementary Scool and a plethera of stimuli to pull all 3 in a million directions, all of which ultimately ending up in the same direction as Charlie because he is afterall the big brother. Unfortunately his legs move a lot faster than the little brothers and his attention span is actually less than theirs. This made for a lot of catching up and then setting off again as soon as we arrive. This causes problems on many levels for me as the leader of the band of monkeys. For though little brothers desire to be where Charlie is, they want their fair turn at each "station" (which, again I don't understand)and so of course there is a mini battle at least every other stop. And Charlies attention span, or lack thereof, means he doesn't see that his enterouge has been held up so now I loom up and don't know where my oldest child is. Let's cycle through this sequence of events about 15 times and that's my "fun" from the evening. No I take that back the fun was seeing the three saying "awesome!" at stuff that, as little as I understood, they completely didn't understand and just wanted to do it again and again (well not Charlie he was happy with one try and move on to the next thing....see above list). It was fun to see Oliver lose track of his brothers on the climbing aparatice and instead of freaking, you could see him say "screw it, this cowboy stuff over here looks cool anyway" and just walked over by himself to investigate on his own. Literally on his own so this meant I'm quickly hunting Charlie and Henry down to let them know I have to get Oliver and so they are not to leave, grabbing my purse that's now unattended and leaping over a barrier to follow my littlest and most independent child. Of course it turns out it's not just that the cowboy area looked cool, Ollie needed a little "private" time. Yeah, that just happened....at which point I say..."

Here we go!
Yes, I am finally blogging. I gotta do something to document the craziness that is my life! Ha! Those of you who know me have often heard me say "Throw it on the pile" or when things are particularly crazy with my boys I joke that I literally need circus music following me wherever I go. And those of you I am speaking of know that I actually do have a growing proverbial pile of "life" that keeps being added to, and I also really should have circus music. :) I don't know whether the music is more of a theme song for my boys and I or perhaps it could be used more of a warning device. You know how when you hear the "ice cream truck" music and you hide your children? Oh come on! We all know someone is getting abducted in that little pick up truck piping out that creepy music! Alright we aren't THAT bad, but it is crazy. Crazy AWESOME for anyone that hangs around a while. Which you are always welcome to do. I'm forever ready to share my stories and life. So like I said in my little about me shpeal grab a glass, lets share some wine and you can listen to my daily stories, shake your head in disbelief at times, and smile knowing you can hug me, get in your car and go home to your own circus of a life. :)
Looking forward to taking you on the ride with me!
